SEA EDITION
Overview:
This collection is a personal exploration of the environmental impact of single-use plastics on our seas and oceans. Through my artwork and my organic ceramic pieces, this collection aims to capture the threatened beauty of sea life while highlighting the damages caused by humans.
Environmental Message:
Our seas and oceans are often referred to as the lungs of the Earth, as they generate more than 50% of the oxygen we breathe. This collection emphasizes how single-use plastics harm both marine life and their ecosystems, which are vital for our planet and for us.
Cultural Connection:
Beyond the environmental message, this collection also reflects my personal heritage. Inspired by my ancestors, the indigenous Palestinians, I wanted to showcase their traditional and eco-friendly practices into my work. Historically, they have always used sustainable methods and natural products, making the best out of their environment while respecting it. They drank from clay bottles and crafted wool for their clothing. This serves as a reminder that sustainability is deeply rooted in our traditions, and that we need to remember it.
